Icons8 Illustration Generator vs Midjourney
Side-by-side comparison of features, pricing, ratings, and alternatives.
An AI-powered vector illustration and icon generator that creates visually consistent sets of graphics based on Icons8's proprietary, hand-drawn library of 400,000+ illustrations and 300+ art styles.
Midjourney is an AI image generation service known for producing highly stylized, artistic images from text prompts, often favored by designers and artists for its distinctive aesthetic quality compared to more photorealistic competitors. It was originally accessible only through Discord and has since launched its own web interface. Users describe a desired image in natural language, and Midjourney generates multiple variations that can be upscaled, remixed, or refined through iterative prompting. Parameters control aspect ratio, stylization strength, and image weight for fine-tuned control over output. Newer versions have significantly improved prompt accuracy, text rendering within images, and consistency of recurring characters across a series of generations, expanding its use from concept art into more commercial illustration and marketing work.

Midjourney Reviews
3.5 (2)Decent but has rough edges
Midjourney is solid overall, though it's not perfect. On the plus side, distinctive, high-quality artistic output. That said, commercial usage rights vary by plan, which held us back from rating it higher.
Does exactly what we need
Our team evaluated a few options before settling on Midjourney. Continual quality improvements each version. One minor gripe: commercial usage rights vary by plan, but it hasn't been a dealbreaker. Would recommend to anyone considering it.
