Overview
Description

The DIY 5th Generation is MRCOOL's flagship homeowner-installable ductless mini-split, and the claim that defines it is specific: it is the only mini-split on the market designed for full homeowner installation, with no HVAC licence, technician or vacuum pump required. The enabling technology is the pre-charged line set, which connects without evacuating the system. That claim is backed rather than asserted. MRCOOL's pre-charged line set valves are tested and certified by Intertek under UL STD 207 and CSA STD C22.2 #140.3 (certification number 5029931), rated to handle 921 PSI and validated for strength and leakage at Intertek's Plano, Texas lab. The design is patent-protected and works with R-454B refrigerant, the lower-GWP replacement now being phased in across the industry. Energy Star certified models are available in the range.

The Google Nest Learning Thermostat observes your temperature adjustments over the first week or two of use and automatically builds a personalized heating and cooling schedule, eliminating the need for manual programming that most people never bother to set up on traditional thermostats. Its built-in sensors detect when nobody is home and automatically switch to an energy-saving temperature (Auto-Schedule and Home/Away Assist), while a rotating dial UI on a sharp display makes manual adjustments simple without needing an app. Energy History reports show how much energy was used each day and why, helping identify savings opportunities, and integration with Google Home allows voice control alongside other smart home devices.

Google Nest Learning Thermostat has quickly become part of our daily routine. Genuinely learns and adapts without setup effort. One minor gripe: some advanced scheduling requires manual override, but it hasn't been a dealbreaker. Would recommend.
