Overview
Description

The Oral-B iO Series 9 pairs a magnetic, micro-vibrating brush head with linear magnetic drive technology for a smoother, gentler brushing motion compared to traditional oscillating-rotating brushes, while still delivering thorough plaque removal. A color-coded smart pressure sensor lights up green, yellow, or red on the handle to indicate ideal, acceptable, or excessive brushing pressure, helping prevent gum damage from brushing too hard. The companion app uses the phone camera during brushing to provide an AI-powered 3D mouth map showing which areas were missed or need more attention, turning brushing into a more guided, data-driven routine.

The Solawave 4-in-1 Radiant Renewal Skincare Wand is a handheld skincare device that stacks four modalities into a single tool: red light therapy, low-level galvanic microcurrent, therapeutic warmth and facial massage vibration. The intent is that they work together during one pass, so warmth and vibration improve product absorption and circulation while red light and microcurrent do the longer-term work. It is FDA-cleared for the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is a wand rather than a mask, so it treats areas selectively: under the eyes, along the jawline, around the mouth. That makes sessions shorter and more targeted than a full-face device, and makes it easy to travel with. Like all microcurrent devices it works best with a conductive serum applied first, and Solawave sells a matching activating serum for that purpose.

Pros & Cons
Pros
  • Genuinely useful real-time pressure feedback
  • Smooth, comfortable brushing motion
  • Detailed AI-guided app coaching
  • Premium build quality
  • Four modalities in one device rather than buying several separate tools
  • FDA-cleared for facial wrinkle appearance, unusual in this category
  • Targeted treatment of specific areas like under-eyes that masks cover poorly
  • Compact and travel-friendly compared with full-face devices
Cons
  • High price versus standard electric toothbrushes
  • Replacement brush heads add ongoing cost
  • App features require a smartphone
  • Requires a conductive serum for the current to work, an ongoing consumable cost
  • Treating the whole face takes longer than a mask that covers it all at once
  • Combining four modalities means none is as powerful as a dedicated single-purpose device

Decent but has rough edges

Oral-B iO Series 9 is solid overall, though it's not perfect. On the plus side, genuinely useful real-time pressure feedback. That said, app features require a smartphone, which held us back from rating it higher.
